WEST BRIDGE, NEW COVENT GARDEN MARKET, LONDON
REMOVAL OF ASBESTOS AIB BOARDS TO UNDERSIDE OF THE BRIDGE AND GLASS TO FACADES
Townley Grammar School, Bexleyheath
Project Overview: Installation of Scaffolding on Townley Grammar School was to allow the Main Contractor to carry out various types of work in a safe and efficient manner. The work carried out included the replacement of windows, soffits and fascias as well as external painting and decorating. Up Scaffolding provided Independent Scaffolding, debris netting and ladder access for this project.
Constraints: The work was carried out during term time meaning the pupils were present at school. Specific work areas and walkways were provided to protect both pupils and workforce during hours of operation. Work also had to be postponed during schools break times to safeguard the pupils. All employees were CRB checked to be eligible for this project.
Wentworth School, Southend on Sea
Project Overview: Work carried out at Wentworth School was to allow for a full refurbishment of the building. The work that required scaffolding included complete replacement of the roof, windows, soffits, fascia and a new drainage system. The types of Scaffolding provided for this project include Independent Scaffolding, debris netting, ladder access and handrails.
Constraints: As the project progressed the Main Contractor found other aspects of the building that could benefit from being upgraded. Therefore additional works were requested and delivered within the Clients original timescale.
Old Clifta Steel Building, Canvey Island Site
Project Overview: Renovation of the Clifta Steel Building was to allow for a new office and cement plant. The work carried out included a new roof, full window replacement, external cladding and render. As part of this work, demolition was also undertaken to take down an existing building that contained asbestos. To carry out this work safely, a sterile enclosure was installed to allow asbestos removal to be carried out in a safe working environment. The types of scaffolding provided for this project include Independent Scaffolding, debris netting, ladder access and a sealed enclosure.
Constraints: This scheme was subject to tight deadline due to many of the contractors working on this site coming from different locations around the United Kingdom. Through working closely with the Client we managed to meet the deadlines and exceed their expectations.
